Резюме: Изтъкнатият френски философ – роденият в Константинопол грък Корнелиус Касториадис (1922–1997), получава световна известност преди всичко благодарение на своя труд „Въображаемото създаване на обществото” (L’institution imaginaire de la sociètè, 1975, Editions du Seuil, Paris). Той представя алтернатива както на марксистката, така и на либералната парадигма и по-настоящем е една от най-влиятелните теории, описващи социалните процеси от неконформистки позиции. Освен това не бива да се пренебрегва фактът, че теорията на Касториадис се основава на радикално променена лингвистична и семиотична парадигма.

ON THE THEORY OF SOCIAL IMAGINARY OF CORNELIANUS KASTORIADIS AND THE PROBLEM OF SIGN
Abstract. The prominent French social philosopher of Greek origin Kornelius Kastoriadis (1922–1997) is famous, probably, owing to his best known work „The Imaginary Institution of Society“ (L’institution imaginaire de la sociètè, 1975, Editions du Seuil, Paris), where he has presented the new theory of the functioning of social institution. It was an alternative in respect to Marxist as well as liberal paradigms and it is now one of the most infl uential views to describe the social processes from non-conformist stances. Meanwhile, there was no attention drawn to the fact that Kastoriadis`s theory of social imaginary and processes of its institualization is based on the radically reconsidered linguistic and semiotic paradigms. A social institualization of imaginary is based on the fundamental relation between signifi er and signifi ed. The different manifestations of this relation determine processes of social development. Semiotic mechanisms have created continuity between past and future. These mechanisms also shaped the social space on institutional way. Describing these processes, Kastoriadis has created a new theory of sign – where the relations between the signifi er and the signifi ed are not predetermined, static, and synchronic (as in the Saussurian paradigm), but dynamic, diachronic, and creative. As it was noticed by Kastoriadis – „Language, in its relation to signifi cations, shows us how instituting society is constantly at work and also, in this particular case, how this work, which exists only as instituted, does not hamper the continued instituting activity of society… the other fundamental function of language – assuring every society’s access to its own past“. Thus, the signifi cation in its both aspects – linguistic and semantic – is not a representation, but more creation ex nihilo („The imaginary does not come from the image in the mirror or from the gaze of the other. Instead, the ‘mirror’ itself and its possibility, and the other as mirror, are the works of the imaginary, which is creation ex nihilo“.). Correspondingly, the signifi cation is considered not as a result, but as an endless and limitless process – magma: “What is a signifi cation? We can describe it only as an indefi nite skein of interminable referrals to something other than (than what would appear to be stated directly). These other things can be both signifi cations and non-signifi cations -- that to which signifi cations relate or refer. But the lexicon of signifi cations is always open; for the full signifi cation of a word is everything that can be socially stated, thought, represented or done on the basis of this word. In other words, it can never be assigned determined limits… A magma is that from which one can extract (or in which one can construct) an indefi nite number of ensemblist organizations but which can never be reconstituted (ideally) by a(fi nite or infi nite) ensemblist composition of these organizations”. The semiotic theory of Kastoriadis still remains bereft of linguistic elaboration. Such ideas are more common and acceptable in poetics, and the closest parallels to them were found in the theoretical works of the prominent Russian poet Osip Mandelshtam. However, the recent linguistic development has made it obvious that the everyday language activity presupposed complicated creative mechanisms of signifi cations, and Kastoriadis’s concept of permanently emerging meanings and references is more adequate than the old-fashioned semantic triangle.

Резюме. Статията представлява изследване на лингвистичните фактори, свързани с проявите на заекване у възрастни лица с това плавностно нарушение. Категорични доказателства за подобна връзка в българската литература не съществуват. Такъв тип изследвания обикновено не са правени на базата на разговорна реч. Настоящото изследване е наблюдение на диалогична реч на петима възрастни заекващи от лингвистична гледна точка. То включва четири основни фактора – (I) словно ударение, (II) позиция на сричката, върху която е проявено заекването, в думата, (III) клас думи от гледна точка на синтактичната им функция и (IV) звуков тип. Резултатите показват, че случаите на заекване в речта на
възрастни лица са свързани предимно с неударените срички, началната позиция в думата, пълнозначните думи и консонантите.

LINGUISTIC FEATURES RELATED TO STUTTERING EVENTS IN BULGARIAN CONVERSATIONAL SPEECH
Abstract. The present preliminary study is a research on the linguistic features related to stuttering events in Bulgarian adults, as there are no strong evidences for this relation in Bulgarian literature. Recently studies of this kind have not been focused on conversational speech. The present study is an observation on dialogues of fi ve Bulgarian adult who stutter from linguistic point of view. This investigation concerns four linguistic factors – (I) word stress, (II) syllable word position, (III) word class, and (IV) phone type. The results show that stuttering events in Bulgarian adults` speech occur more often on unstressed than on stressed syllables, on word-initial position, on content words and on consonants.

Тази статия е посветена на справянето с терминологичните проблеми и ефективното внедряване на съвременни технологии в разработването на езикови курсове за системата на българското висше образование, основано на теоретични и емпирични изследвания в тази област. Фокусът е върху потенциала на този вид образование за засилен достъп до качествено образование чрез уеббазирани курсове, поддържани във виртуална учебна среда.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES THROUGH VIRTUAL TEACHING MEDIA
Abstract. Information and Communication Technologies have rapidly being introduced in foreign language teaching at Sofi a University. This paper is dedicated to dealing with the issues of terminology and effective introduction of contemporary technologies in the design of language courses for the Bulgarian higher educational system, based on theoretical and empirical research in the fi eld. The focus is on the potential of this type of education for enhanced access to quality education through web based, virtual learning environment supported courses.

TOVE JANSSON: TRAVELLING LIGHT ON THE UNEASY PATH FROM THE ANCIENT CULTURAL TRADITIONS TO THE POSTMODERN CULT
Abstract. Travelling light, the latest work of Tove Jansson in Bulgarian translation, comes to illustrate her homogenous oeuvre with various readers and acts as a metaphor of the trip from Scandinavian traditions and Swedish infl uence to the pain of Jansson’s transformation into a national and international icon of artistry – of art, born by war traumas and the urge for revolt. Through the deceitful, superfi cial idyll she deconstructs the safety of family life and protests against the wars and social stereotypes by means of satire, apocalyptical disasters and time allegories, of the fi ctitious innocence of children’s books full of psychology, melancholy and Nordic cold.
